Its about a girl named Camelia who lives a normal life dating, has friends, decent grades. But, one day when she was picking an earing that she dropped crossing the street, a car was coming towards her and it wasnt stopping. Suddenly, a hot guy shoves her out of the way, saving her life. He left without her saying thank you or asking what his name was. Three months later, shes starting her junior year in high school and theres this rumor about a new guy named Ben who supposedly killed his girlfriend. Camelia doesnt believe in rumors and when she sees Ben, its the guy who saved her life. She tries to talk to him but he ignores her at first, but later Ben begins touching her weirdly but Camilia only gets more drawn to him. She later finds out hes not ordinary. He can know the future or past of a person by touching a person and he senses that Camelias in great danger. Its suppose to be about this guy, Tristian, and this girl, Ivy, who are crazy about each other. Ivy also has this strong belief in angels like a water angel, a death angel, etc which Tristian doesnt believe at all. But one day, they get in a car accident and Tristian dies and Ivys belief in angels die with him and Ivy feels as if she has lossed everything. But, Tristian is still there, protecting her as an angel. But the problem is, Ivy keeps doubting about angels so no matter what Tristian does to try to help her, he hurts her more and Ivy feels more alone. Tristian soon realizes that their car accident wasnt an accident and whoever killed Tristian is trying to kill Ivy but can he save her im time?

I think our life must be measured by the kind of person we are and become. Lately in all my observation of Life most of Life goes about the business of Being with simplicity amp beauty. How important is it to keep our countrys history fresh in the minds of our youth?
In Singapore, we have history books that tell the stories of our forefathers, but is there value in doing other things to keep our past fresh and alive for the young, perhaps through cultural events and features like heritage trails? Share your thoughts with me.
Certainly history books are an invaluable source of information but then there can never be ONE comprehensive source. History is subjective it is subject to personal insights and individual perspectives but this is what makes it so interesting. What intrigues me about the countrys history is its living history how people lived, who they thought, behaved, related to one another in communities etc. in an given period of time. For me, much of what I am today is shaped by oral history courtesy of my elders as well as school teachers who had the benefit of living through tumultous times. Their perspectives and interpretations of actual events are always fresh and exciting to the listener. Of course actual living conditions are irretrievably past and I can only imagine scenarios based on old pictures and movies. The visual recreations at heritage centers and museums all help to consolidate the historical information. I would add that not all of these orators are educated like the year old Ah Ma at the nursing home I serve at.brbrHeritage trails are fine if heritage sites are preserved. Buildings, bridges, trees etc have history too. How many archaelogical sites do we have in Singapore? How many shipwrecks of historical value have been found around Singapore waters? etc.. Probably this information exists but its availability to the general public is still lacking. Historical knowledge is scant in the memories of our present generation. I feel education is key and not just confined to schoolgoing children but to the general public which includes our new citizens.brbrEducation campaigns ought to be undertaken by who better than custodians of our historical inheritance museums?! Instead of promoting exhibits of foreign culture and civilisations, more should be done to promote knowledge of our own cultures, heritage and history. I love the new setup at the National History Museum but most folks dont step inside. I feel the National Heritage Board has done really well promoting all facets of history but the challenge lies in bringing history to the doors of the common folk the grassroots. We have a wealth of history in our elderlies why arent they being tapped on? Should museums have roadshows then? Id personally like to know how my neighbourhood was like years ago, who lived here, what were the industries, how it looked like etc. I like interesting information like how Lavender got its name, or how the area beyond SGH was all graveyards and gambier plantations at the turn of the century and why it was called Bukit Merah. The adult generation growing into their middle ages stilll possess such memories but if theyre not passed down to the young, they will die off. brbrAnd why not have a village concept? Camps where the young, even families, actually go and live out the past way of life? Even Mr Jack Sim is building a longhouse for his toilet college to give his students a taste of third nation living, why not this? Nothing beats firsthand experience.brbrWhat about tracing your family roots as an activity? Are there resources available to the average citizen to do so? Activities like this not only makes history fresh and alive but promote bonding within the family as well.brbrIt may be an expensive endeavor but knowledge of our history is indispensable to our identity as Singaporeans it has shaped us thus far and is integral to us retaining our uniqueness as a people, in a nation that is evolving and changing in its ethnic makeup and ever increasing diversity. After having a family, we truly realize how important these aspects of ourselves are... because we initially have less time to dedicate to doing them.brbrI feel it is very important to continue making time for personal expression through creativity especially after having a family because we suddenly become such different people and feel like we have lost ourselves momentarily.brbrMy husband is an amazing photographer. Personally, I adore painting and drawing for our family and friends. It has been said that the Indians were the only nonEuropean people who manufactured heavy forged pieces of iron and the pieces were of the size that the European smiths did not learn to make more than one thousand years later.brbrMany theories have been put forward from time to time to explain the rustfree state of the pillar. For example, the site of the pillar is away from industrial areas and the climate of Delhi is fairly dry. It is known that serious corrosion of iron does not take place if critical value of relative humidity is less than . At Delhi, the relative humidity exceeds for only about days in a year and exceeds for only about days in a year. Therefore, although the total rainfall annually is about inches the atmosphere in Delhi is not very conducive to rusting of iron.brbrBesides a dry environment, there appears to be no doubt that the protective scale on the pillar has played a major role in protecting this monument. There are two major theories of formation of this protective scale. It is quite possible that both the factors have played equally important roles in formation of this scale.brbrProtective CoatingbrbrThe heterogeneous nature of the structure of the monument reveals two important points, namely, no heat treatment has been applied and the metal of the pillar has never been in the molten state, probably the last stage in the construction of so large a piece of iron at that date would almost certainly have consisted of the hammer forging together of balls of iron and thereafter repeated reheating and hammering process to create smooth surface. This must have taken a considerable time to complete. During this time an oxide film would have formed some of which could get hammered into the surface. Slag too would have oozed out and would have joined the scale. Owing to its high heat capacity and high ambient temperature the finished iron would have taken relatively long time to cool leading to a somewhat nonhomogenous normalization, the quality of the oxide layer produced by this sequence of operation would in all probability greatly promote the preservation of the pillar in pure and dry climate.brbrAccording to the second theory, the protective oxide could have formed from atmospheric exposure. Examination of small pieces of scale obtained from the iron pillar reveals that it consists of approximately of an oxide of iron having the properties of the solid solution phase of mixtures of FeO and FeO. About of this hydrated oxide of iron, approaching Limonite FeO.HO has also been reported. From the above reports it can be concluded that the scale was apparently formed under conditions of heating with significant extent of atmospheric oxidation occurring at the surface and penetrating along cracks running longitudinally in the scale.brbrThere have also been suggestions that in the past pillar was ceremonially anointed with purified butter. Tghee obtained from the milk of cow would have had a marked effect. A thin coating of linseed oil or lanoline or wool grease is well known to give good protection to steel for some months. If applied regularly and reinforced b the dust and sand which settle on it, it gives a good protective coating to the material underneath. However, the practice of ceremonial anointing would probably have been discontinued during Muslim occupation of the area in th century AD. brbrThe great mass of metal might act as a temperature stabilizer, thus reducing condensation of moisture on it. It has already been mentioned that corrosion proceeds during those time when the effective relative humidity on the surface of the metal exceeds the critical value e.g. . In Delhi, this cannot normally occur during the day or early in the night because the air is very dry, except of course when it rains. During the remainder of the night the temperature slowly drops and because of its high heat capacity, the pillar remains warm and less liable to corrode than the relative humidity of the air would indicate. Just before day break the pillar is for a very short time cooler than air as dry, daytime conditions are quickly reestablished.brbrSo, in brief, it can be concluded that the corrosion resistance property of the Delhi Pillar is due to i the purity of its iron ii high phosphorus iii low sulphur iv absence of any other metal v cinder coating formed on the surface vi better forge welding vii drier and uncontaminated atmospheric condition and viii mass metal effect.
